We had three quotes for our extension but chose S & P Hewitt’s because it was competitive and they came highly recommended by another trades man we know.
It was stressed at our first meeting with them that they only took one build on at a time so we knew that once our building work began they would be staying with us until it was completed. We are delighted to say that this is exactly what happened. Reliability is the first thing we picked upon as they arrived each day at 8am, started work the minute they arrived on site, working extremely hard all day.
S & P Hewitt are a family business. They are professional, highly reliable and very trustworthy. They explained all aspects of the job to us in full and also in clear English! Nothing was too much trouble, even when we decided that we wanted to change a few things, they offered advice and assistance.
The site was tidy and organized. The careful planning of deliveries and placement of skips was arranged to cause minimum disruption (which was a relief to us as we have two children, who also thought the world of Sean and Pete!). The atmosphere around our home while the building work was being undertaken was always good humored, full of witty banter, without a bad or foul word spoken. This helped make sure things went smoothly and without stress.
We live on a main road in Dronfield and many people who pass our home have commented on how fast the build was constructed and progressed. The building work was completed well inside their initial and expected time scale but still to a very high standard. There were no hidden extras, the initial price quoted was exactly the price we paid!
It was real pleasure sharing our home with them for eight weeks, we have made two new friends who our door is always open for and the kettle will be on ready! We will miss them and the banter and there are not many builders you can say that about! We would recommend them to anyone wanting building work and we won’t be getting any further quotes for future projects as they have the job already!
